World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as PvE damage and crit chance.
For instance, a weapon with the upgrade template ending in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost increases with the item's level.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons and armor to give them a stat boost or add a bonus effect. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot for them; the item must be at a minimum upgraded to blue level for a component to be inserted. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it is applied to (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they would require to achieve the same level using normal methods.
A boost upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of an armored weapon or. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them in the cash shop, or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.
The player is able to have the maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of the item will be available at the time of the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear even when they're not sure how much it will be improved after the reset.
If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process could be costly, and there is a high risk that the item may be obsolete or even break when it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that can double or even eliminate the chances of failure, as well as a few upgrades that give a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs increase the effectiveness of all nodes in the area around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in a variety of ways, and we recommend getting them up to level 15 whenever you can.
It is commonplace to see in the final game that placing Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes faster.
Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.
Each Glyph has a particular range of values it can improve a statistic by, and the value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost a specific set of stat nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, so it is best to place Glyphs in the most important spots on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For example an Druid should try to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes but also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes, too.
Leveling
The upgrade system of items allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum of 385. Each item level requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. similar web site can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab of crafting tables. Each Upgrade Recipe completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned you'll be able to claim your upgrade and get its extra bonuses.
When a player improves the equipment they have, the base item will be replaced with the new item. The same armor will receive the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also have a unique bonus. This could be a problem in that it could cause the item to become more expensive, even if you don't need it.
If the player has enough tokens they can reroll item upgrades. This causes the item to be traded for a new one, with the level 1 base, and a totally different set of extra bonuses. This can be useful for some items, but it's not something that should be repeated often, as it can use up many resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, allowing the player to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides an increase in power if the player continuously enters or leaves the water. It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time increasing the max roll by a factor of 10. This item is highly important in PvP. A perfectly rolled version can be worth up to 50x the value of a non-upgraded counterpart.
Requirements
The item upgrader lets players increase the level of their equippable equipment (armor weapons, weapons trinkets, and weapons) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of that piece, while upgrading weapons will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.
All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to revert to its original state, requiring the player to spend more money on materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.
If an item does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition the item will lose any gained bonuses such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or the speed of reloading). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it increases its crit chance, the increase will be applied prior to any attack damage increases. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is recomputed every time an upgrade is applied.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to the value of the base item. For instance an item of common use could have five upgrades for a price of. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero quality items will have the lowest cost for each upgrade.
Premium items may have different upgrade requirements than normal equipment. For example they might require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player must visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment will require different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the expenses mentioned above.
